The Aquatic WeedBlock® works naturally to prevent and suppress lake bottom weeds. Similar to other bottom screens, the Aquatic WeedBlock® limits the amount of sunlight that reaches the lake bed. Without the light, weeds can not flourish. However, unlike other bottom screens, the weave of the material we use allows aquatic organisms to find sustenance and reproduce without interruption.
Even better; the Aquatic WeedBlock® is a complete system. No more running
out for rebar or additional weights. Biodegradable tubing is built into the Aquatic WeedBlock® with a removable end cap, allowing you the flexibility to purchase the system pre-weighted with sterile, unbleached sand or empty, so you can save on shipping costs and fill them on site. Either way, the system is very easy to install.

To maximize results, we recommend installing the system in early Spring, before weeds are established. If installing the Aquatic WeedBlock® on existing weeds,
we recommend cutting them back and removing the debris before installation.
This will allow for more secure placement of the system to the lake bed.

If placing your Aquatic WeedBlock® in shallow water where there’s frequent turbulence (motor boats, strong underlying current, etc), we suggest purchasing additional tubes to prevent the system from shifting out of position. These tubes are 6’ long and include 2 end caps and biodegradable ties. They can be purchased pre-filled with sand or without sand, so you can fill it on your own and save a bit on shipping costs.
